Sunrise at Bondi Beach

The world famous Bondi Beach. My last visit to Australia did not include a stop at Bondi. This time around there will be a few visits. Visit number one was centered around a course in Bondi Junction. (Wouldn't you take courses more often if they were located in such fabulous locations?)
The downside was that there wasn't much time to spend at the beach or exploring the surrounding area - only a quick couple visits at sunrise (or just shortly after the sun peaked its rays).

A great way for a first look at Bondi beach is from the Bondi to Coogee coastal walk. Entering the walk from a local street less than a kilometer from the Bondi end, the sun was already peaking above the horizon. Despite being just a few minutes after 7, there were plenty of people around. Surfers were waiting on the best waves 20 metres from shore. Ultra-fit looking runners were tackling the path and the beach. Bootcamp classes were in full swing. Swimmers were braving the cold water at Bondi Icebergs, the famous ocean pool. Affording rent in this part of Australia may never been in the cards but a few more visits are definitely on deck. Next time, however, course manuals will be left at home and swimwear and runners will take their place.

One of the best ways to catch the sunrise

Bondi Icebergs - hope the name doesn't reflect the water temperature

You reckon it's easier to get out of bed when your bootcamp takes place on Bondi Beach?

Oops didn't realize he was wearing a speedo!

Looking forward to photographing Bondi and its people again soon.
